Hello AF explorers, this one is for you! We are excited to announce our first alcohol-free mixology class at Lucky You featuring Taylor Watts, the “Head Devil” at Devil Takes a Holiday Cocktail Lounge. Devil Takes a Holiday (DTAH) is part of the heartbeat of downtown Burlington nightlife. It is known for its unique atmosphere, local artistry, and rotating menu of creative cocktails, including what we feel is the best alcohol-free cocktail menu in town. AF cocktails are not an afterthought at DTAH, they are given as much attention as every other drink category on the menu.
What To Expect:
Taylor will teach the fundamentals of alcohol-free mixology while demonstrating three different styles of mocktails, or “atonements” as Devil Takes A Holiday calls them. In addition to laying out the case for shrubs, Taylor will build an AF version of a classic cocktail as well as a kava cocktail using spirits we stock in the shop. Entry includes all class materials (including recipes!), samples of each drink made, and a full AF cocktail. A few lucky students will be able to come to the front of the class to get hands on instruction. We will also be selling bundles of the featured cocktail ingredients at a discounted price for you to experiment with at home.
The skills explored in this class are for anyone interested in mixology. Many of the spirits we offer in the shop work just as well in cocktails made with alcohol. They can add flavor and functionality while reducing the overall ABV.

About Our Guest Instructor:
Taylor has been working in bars and restaurants for over 25 years. He moved to Vermont from his home in New York City in 2021 and opened Devil Takes A Holiday Cocktail Lounge in 2023. He lives in Winooski with his one-eyed pupper Alastor.
