In July of 2026 we received our Medical Use Endorsement license which allows us to serve Vermont Registered Medical Cannabis Patients. This is a return to our roots. From 2013-2021 we served thousands of registered patients and caregivers, first as Champlain Valley Dispensary and Southern Vermont Wellness, then as CeresMed. We are deeply committed to helping Vermonters access and understand the products available to them in this regulated market in order to achieve symptom relief.

Benefits of the Vermont Medical Cannabis Program

• No Tax; As a medical patient you do not pay tax on your cannabis purchases.
• Higher Potency; Medical patients can purchase products with a higher concentration of THC than what is allowed in the adult use market.
• Product Selection; There is a wider range of products available to Medical Cannabis Patients, including some products that are prohibited in the adult use market.
• Plant Count; Patients can have 6 mature and 12 immature plants.
  Possession Limits: Medical patients can purchase up to 2oz of Medical Cannabis.
• Extra Services; Not all but some dispensaries may have advantages such as delivery services and curbside pickup.* They offer 1:1 consultation with trained professionals who are available to Medical Patients if needed.
• Confidentiality; Medical Dispensaries are required to keep patient information confidential.

How to Apply to Become a Vermont Registered Medical Patient

To qualify, a patient must be a Vermont resident who is suffering from a debilitating medical condition. The following medical conditions qualify as debilitating for Vermont residents:

• Cancer
• Multiple sclerosis
• HIV
• AIDS
• Glaucoma
• Crohn’s disease
• Parkinson’s disease
• Post-traumatic stress disorder
• Ulcerative colitis
• Medical conditions that produce one or more of the following symptoms also may qualify: cachexia/wasting syndrome, chronic pain, severe nausea, or seizures.

Medical Cannabis Registrations last for up to 3 years and have an associated fee of $50 at each initial and renewal application. To learn more and to apply, visit the Medical Program page on the Vermont Cannabis Control Board website.

Important Information For Purchasing As A Vermont Registered Medical Cannabis Patient or Caregiver

• Registered Patients and their Caregivers have full access to the adult-use menu as well as the medical-only products.
• Registered Patients and their Caregivers must present both their valid Medical Cannabis Card as well as a second, valid, government-issued photo ID at the point of sale (such as a driver’s license or US Passport).
• We can not accept paper copies or photos of required IDs.
• The hours that we serve Registered Medical Cannabis Patients can change unexpectedly based on staff availability. Vermont CCB rules require that only staff members that have completed the Enhanced Budtender Training can serve patients. Half of our team has completed the training, with the other half scheduled to be trained by mid-October. Please call ahead if you are traveling a distance to shop with us to confirm that a trained team member is on the schedule at the time of your visit: 802-404-0009.
