The Chatty Rose: A Heart-Opening AF Cocktail Featuring Kava Haven

We teamed up with our friends at Kava Haven to create a heart-opening, fun, alcohol-free cocktail for our Valentine’s Day party with Rosie’s Cannabis. This recipe comes together simply and is easily batched for efficient service at an event. Just add your bubble of choice to the batch right before you plan to serve (the other ingredients can be combined ahead of time).

This cocktail can be served over ice in a rocks glass or shaken with ice and strained into a martini or coupe glass. If shaking, add your bubble as a topper after you have strained the other ingredients into the glass. We garnished with 2 Luxardo Cherries on a decorative cocktail stick. A lime twist would also be nice if you want a brighter, zestier experience. We used ginger beer for our bubble because we wanted it to be a little sweet. It works really well with club soda if you want it tart.

Kava has traditionally been used for relaxation and social connection. Tart cherries have been found to have a range of potential health benefits including improving cardiometabolic health and reducing inflammation. We added a special, local ingredient to this recipe to underline the heart-opening, mood-elevating vibes we were looking to create: Spoonful Herbals’ Schizandra/Rose Glycerite.*

A big thank you to our revelers who helped us name this cocktail at the party. We loved reading all of the names that were submitted to the contest. The lucky winner went home with a prize that included  Kava Haven, Luxardo Cherries, Spoonfuls’ Schizandra/Rose Glycerite and some flower accessories from Rosie’s.
